Monitoring system on FP7 contribution to sustainable development - Release 2.0	[2010-07-13]
Today, the European Commission published the second release of the web-based tool, www.FP7-4-SD.eu, that allows the contribution of cooperative research funded by the 7th Framework Programme to the EU renewed Sustainable Development Strategy (EU SDS) to be traced. The new release of this platform includes a geographical view of SD-related topics and projects at regional level as well as project data for projects funded under the 2009 calls for proposals.

Call for applications "Research Fellow CSR"	[2010-04-26]
The Research Institute for Managing Sustainability at the Vienna University of Economics and Business announces an open position for a full-time Research Fellow, starting 1st July 2010 and with a duration of two years (24 months). Responsibilities include: Independent research and assistance to the project leader in two CSR research projects (financed from EU FP7 and Austrian National Bank): literature review and quantitative and qualitative empirical research and analysis, project report writing, preparation of scientific publications, project management assistance.

New public web-based tool to trace the effects of FP7 on sustainable development	[2010-04-21]
The European Commission publishes today a web-based tool that allows tracing the contribution of cooperative research funded by the 7th Framework Programme to the renewed EU sustainable development strategy. The tool is available at FP7-4-SD.EU and presents the results of analyses of about 2000 FP7 topics that have been conducted by RIMAS together with partners from the Netherlands (TU Delft), Germany (Ecologic Institute, ISI Fraunhofer) and Switzerland (INFRAS).

EASY-ECO Brussels Conference "Sustainable Development Evaluations in Europe"	[2010-04-12]
A Call for Papers for the next EASY-ECO Conference on Sustainable Development Evaluations in Europe in Brussels, Belgium (November 2010) has been published. We encourage researchers from all disciplines (including young researchers), professionals from related fields of work, commissioning agents, and evaluation users and other stakeholders to submit abstracts for the EASY-ECO Brussels Conference 2010 until 15 May 2010!

EU SDS Monitoring Report 2009 has been published	[2009-12-16]
The 2009 Monitoring Report of the European Sustainable Development Strategy (EU SDS) has recently been published on the Eurostat website. Together with its partners Ecologic (DE), INFRAS (CH) and IPPR (UK), RIMAS has been strongly involved in the elaboration process of this publication.

Austrian CSR-Stakeholder Dialogue	[2009-07-09]
On June 24th 2009 almost 90 participants followed the invitation of respACT – austrian business council for sustainable development and gathered for the Austrian Stakeholder Dialogue in the Viennese Vista3. They commented on the status quo of the new Austrian CSR and Sustainability Guiding Vision’s development process. EASY-ECO Budapest Conference 2009: Stakeholder Perspectives in Evaluating Sustainable Development	[2009-01-28]
The next conference within the EASY-ECO series of conferences and trainings, the EASY-ECO Budapest Conference 2009, will be held from 16-18 October 2009 in Budapest (Hungary) and will focus on key developments in linking Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) and stakeholder management to sustainability evaluation in the corporate domain in Europe. A call for papers has already been published; application is open until 15 May 2009.

ESDN Quarterly Report December 2008: The Interfaces between the EU SDS and the Lisbon Strategy	[2008-12-19]
The current ESDN Quarterly Report focuses on the interfaces between the EU Sustainable Development Strategy (EU SDS) and the Lisbon Strategy processes. After a brief outline of two major governance issues in relation to both strategies (policy integration and multi-level governance), the QR provides an overview of the Lisbon Strategy and the EU SDS as well as of the similarities, differences and interfaces of the strategies. This is followed by two scenarios of future strategic development in the EU post-2010.

EUROSTAT Monitoring Report of the EU SDS	[2008-12-10]
RIMAS has won a European-wide call for tender issued by EUROSTAT, the statistical office of the EU. Together with Ecologic (Germany), INFRAS (Switzerland) and IPPR (UK), RIMAS will elaborate the upcoming EU SDS Monitoring Reports 2009 and 2011.

EASY-ECO Training on Evaluation of Sustainability in Lund (Sweden)	[2008-11-11]
The next EASY-ECO Training on Evaluation of Sustainability will be held from 14-18 April 2009 in Lund, Sweden. This training will be focused on the areas of evaluation of energy and sustainable consumption policies and programmes. Application for this event is open until 30 November 2008.

Civil Society Platform on Sustainable Consumption and Production Conference and Workshop	[2008-09-15]
The Conference will be the first event of the EU FP-7 project named the Civil Society Platform on Sustainable Consumption and Production (DelibProcessSCP). The event will be organised by the UNEP/Wuppertal Institute Collaborating Centre on Sustainable Consumption and Production (CSCP), the Centre for Sustainable Design - University for the Creative Arts (CfSD) and the Regional Environmental Center (REC).

Eurostat publishes BOKU/RIMAS study	[2008-02-04]
Eurostat has published the final report of a project conducted by BOKU and RIMAS on indicators used in National Reform Programmes (NRPs) and National Sustainable Development Strategies (NSDSs).

We are pleased to announce the next conference in the EASY-ECO series of trainings and conferences, the EASY-ECO Vienna Conference "Governance by Evaluation: Institutional Capacities and Learning for Sustainable Development" which will be held from 11-14 March 2008 in Vienna, Austria. Special Issue 'European Environment': Sustainable Development Strategies in Europe: Taking Stock 20 years after the Brundtland Report	[2007-07-04]
On the occasion of the anniversary of the so-called Brundtland Report, Reinhard Steurer and Andre Martinuzzi from RIMAS (the Research Institute for Managing Sustainability that operates the ESDN Office) have edited a special issue with five contributions on "Sustainable Develoment Strategies in Europe". The special issue charts the evolution of SD policy making over 20 years, triggered by the Brundtland Report (the first global sustainable development (SD) strategy in a broader sense).

'Evaluating Sustainable Development’ - new book series accompanying the EASY-ECO series of events	[2007-06-29]
The first two volumes of the 'Evaluating Sustainable Development' have been published! The objective of this series is to provide a bridge between academic and applied research, and present results directly relevant to policy makers. It will address methodological challenges, facilitate an exchange of experience between disciplines and practitioners, and contribute to capacity building for evaluation The volumes will comprise of selected papers presented at the international EASY-ECO conferences organised by a consortium of seven leading European universities and research institutes.

Final report on “Raising Awareness for CSR in EU Member States”	[2007-05-31]
The report documents government initiatives at the national level that aim to raise awareness for Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) in EU Member States. It supports a structured exchange among the members of the High-Level Group (HLG) on CSR.

ISO 14001 - Experiences, Effects and Future Challenges: a National Study in Austria	[2007-03-19]
As Austria was one of the leading countries in promoting the EU scheme EMAS, and as there has been no specific study on Austrian experiences with ISO 14001, the purpose of this study is to describe the experiences with and effects of ISO 14001 in Austria.
