UNESCO
In its 57th Session in December 2002, the United Nations General Assembly
proclaimed the Decade of Education for Sustainable Development for the
period 2005-2014. The Decade of Education for Sustainable Development
pursues a global vision: The vision of education for sustainable development
is a world where everyone has the opportunity to benefit from quality
education and learn the values, behaviour and lifestyles required for
a sustainable future and for positive societal transformation.
In March 2005, EASY-ECO has been awarded an Official Decade Project by
the German Commission for UNESCO.
