EU-Grants: Full grants from the European Commission‘s
Sixth Framework Programme are available for participating researchers,
especially those with less than ten years experience. These grants cover
economy/2nd class travel costs, training fees, accommodation
for 11 nights (evening of the 20th September to the morning of the 1st
of October 2005) and full board (breakfast, lunch, dinner)
at the training. For more information please consult the EU-Grant
information on this website.
If you have requested accommodation, this will be provided for 11 nights,
including all meals at the conference venue. We highly recommend that
you take the ‘Residential attendance’ option and stay at the
training venue for both social and practical reasons, as well as easier
administration for us, particularly since all costs will be covered by
the EU for EU-Grant recipients. However, should you opt for making your
own accommodation arrangements, as an eligible EU-Grant recipient, you
can get reimbursement of real subsistence expenses (hotel and catering)
upon provision of all relevant receipts up to a daily maximum
of € 50.
Important note relating to EU-Grants: The amount of
the grant available for travel expenses depends on your distance from
the venue – details of the maximum amounts you can claim are attached
and you are asked to make the most economical travel arrangements possible.
If you expend more than the maximum allowable amounts, it will not be
possible to reimburse you for the overspend. Note that travel can only
be reimbursed upon provision of receipts for your travel
tickets; it is not possible to reimburse money for tickets presented without
receipts. For this reason, make sure that you ask for a receipt
at the time of purchase and that you bring this with you to the training
where you will be reimbursed. It will not be sufficient just to submit
a flight ticket; the receipt from the travel agency or flight operator
is required. The same applies for accommodation organised by the grant
recipient (i.e. and not organised at the training venue).
Deposit: Once awarded a place on the Bratislava Training,
participants will be requested to pay a deposit of 50 € to confirm
their attendance at the event. Successful applicants will be told the
status of their application on or by the 10th of July 2005 and the deposit
must be paid by bank transfer by the 22nd of July 2005. Banks details
of the REC Slovakia will be posted with the confirmation email and sent
on the 10th of July 2005.
In order to comply with the Regional Environmental Center financial procedures,
each grant recipient will need to complete a claim form (available at
registration) and attach all receipts for all allowable expenses. Payments
for travel will be made in cash during the event. The completed form should
be given to James Grellier who will be present throughout the training.
